PROCESSING AND STORING OF YOUR DATA
Your data will be stored in the encrypted database of project partner INESC ID, located in Portugal (EU Member country). Only the MoTiV research team will have access to this data. Even among project partners, limitation of access will be applied only to the personnel for whom the access to data is absolutely necessary. All other personnel will have access only to pseudonymised data (i.e. that will not allow identification of participants). After processing, at the end of the project by April 2020, your personal data will be anonymised and only data that cannot be used for participant identification will be used and published in the Open Dataset of mobility/behavioural data. Anonymised processed data may survive the project, as they will become part of the Open Dataset and various publications and other dissemination activities.
Your data will not be sent/sold to third parties. The sole purpose of storing your data is for research.
Your data will not be sent to countries outside the European Union (except for Switzerland that is associated through Horizon 2020, and is providing adequate personal data protection according the EC decision).

YOUR RIGHTS
Participation in the data collection is always voluntary. You have the right to withdraw your consent and participation at any time according to GDPR Article 6(1) and Article 9(2) without any consequences.
Participation can be withdrawn by sending an email request to INESC ID Ethics and Data Protection Manager, keeping in copy the national Ethics and Data Protection Manager. In such case, the collect data will not be used for MoTiV and will be erased, unless you agree that your personal data can be used for the project after being thoroughly anonymised. Such procedure is described in the MoTiV app privacy policy.
Furthermore, you have the right to access, to rectify, to erase, to restrict the processing, the right to data portability and the right to object, as granted in GDPR Article 15 -22. In practice, these are implemented through an email request to the INESC ID Ethics and Data Protection Manager, keeping in copy the national Ethics and Data Protection Manager to be assisted, in case of need, on how to exercise your rights according to Article 57(e) GDPR.
If you have any questions or would like to raise an issue, please contact the Ethics and Data Protection Manager in your country, the Ethical Advisor or the Data Protection Officer. Their contact details can be found in the MoTiV website, in the Woorti app and in the section below.

SUPERVISION
The MoTiV project has appointed a Data Protection Officer and an independent Ethical Advisor for the Project.
Due to the data collection taking place across European countries, each partner and Linked Third Party has appointed an Ethics and Data Protection Manager to ensure your rights and to monitor and solve any potential ethical issues. The Ethics and Data Protection Manager in your country will promptly answer all your questions, in your language, on data protection and ethics related to the MoTiV project.

DATA BREACH
In case of a data breach, a procedure is in place to evaluate and solve any security incident, including the assessment of risks of such incident to your rights and freedoms. Any security incidents that may cause a high risk to your rights and freedoms will be reported to the Data Protection Officer. He/she will undertake all steps necessary to minimise negative consequences. You will promptly receive a notification about the nature of the data breach, the information lost and the actions taken.

USAGE OF USERS´ DATA
The data generated within this data collection will be used for MoTiV-related activities only. This
includes the processing for research purposes and dissemination activities (e.g. talks and presentations at workshops/conferences, scientific publications, technical or policy reports). Your data will under no circumstances be sold to any third party. The dataset will under no circumstances be merged or cross-referenced with other datasets (e.g. Facebook, Instagram).

DISSEMINATION OF RESULTS
The data generated with this data collection will be used for research purposes only. All published data (including the open dataset for further research activities, publications and other dissemination materials) will be thoroughly anonymised in order to respect your privacy.
By approving this Informed Consent Form, I declare that I understand the conditions and rules and voluntarily and freely consent to be a participant in the MoTiV data collection.
This information is further described in Woorti Privacy Policy.

Woorti Privacy Policy

MoTiV is a research project within Horizon 2020 Programme. It is governed by consortium of private companies, NGO and research institutions from several European countries. The Project is coordinated by the University of Žilina, with registered seat at Univerzitná 8215/1, 010 26 Žilina, Slovakia; Company ID: 00397 563 (hereinafter "UNIZA"). Other partners are: CoReorient OY, Finland; European Cyclists’ Federation ASBL, Belgium; Fundació Eurecat, Spain; INESC ID – Instituto de Engenharia de Sistemas e Computadores, Investigação e Denvolvimento em Lisboa, Portugal; routeRANK SA, Switzerland; TIS PT – Consultores em Transportes, Inovação e Sistemas, SA, Portugal (hereinafter "we" or “controller”).
We take the protection of your personal information very seriously and adhere strictly to the rules set down by data protection legislation. The following statement provides an overview of how we ensure this protection and explains which types of data we collect for which purposes, how we handle your data and your rights – information according to Articles 13, 14 and 21 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT
The main goal of the MoTiV project, running from November 2017 to April 2020, is to address the emerging topic of exploring the dynamics of individual preferences, behaviours and lifestyles that influence time use in mobility contexts. At a conceptual level, the project introduces a new definition and methodology for the estimation of the Value of Travel Time (VTT). The conceptual framework will be validated through a European-wide data collection campaign in at least ten (10) European countries; engaging a minimum of 5,000 participants; for at least two (2) weeks; in different urban contexts (urban, sub-urban and rural) and across all transport modes. The data about travellers’ mobility behaviour will be collected through the Woorti smartphone app. Such data will provide an insight into the changing perception and experience on the value of travel time. The Woorti app will enable travellers to easily track, understand, and re-evaluate their travel experience, helping them make best use of their own time in line with their personal preferences and lifestyle. The European-wide behavioural and mobility dataset will be made public to stimulate further research in this area and to start planning transport from the perspective of travellers’ needs and preferences.

PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA
We process your personal data for various purposes in line with the relevant data protection laws, in particular the GDPR and the national laws of project partners. We will process your data only after your explicit consent to these specific purposes:

Users willing to contribute to the research, but not interested in taking part to incentive-oriented activities that are part of the campaign, can opt out of these either through the Woorti app or by notifying by email the local Ethics and Data Protection Manager.
The data processed based on these purposes will be used for MoTiV-related activities only. Your data will under no circumstances be disclosed or sold to any third party except processors carefully chosen and bind by contractual obligations to process personal data on behalf of controller and in compliance of GDPR.

SECURITY AND STORAGE OF YOUR DATA
We are doing our best to protect your personal data and privacy. For this reason, access to personal data is allowed only for selected personnel of project partners. Personal data processed for purposes relevant only for selected partner (e.g. competition within one country, communication with selected project partner, etc.) will always be processed only by that partner which collected your data. Access limitation will apply in any case. Your data collected by data collection via Woorti app will be stored in the encrypted database of project partner INESC ID, located in Portugal (EU Member country). Only the MoTiV research team will have access to this data. Even among project partners, limitation of access will be applied to allow access to data to researchers dealing with data analysis tasks. All other personnel will have access only to pseudonymised data (i.e. that will prevent direct identification of participants).

At the end of the MoTiV project in April 2020, the collected data will be anonymised and used for preparing and publishing an Open Dataset of mobility/behavioural data in which individual participant identification will not be possible. The MoTiV dataset may also be used for producing scientific publications, reports and for dissemination activities.

In any case, your data will neither be shared nor sold to third parties. The sole purpose of storing your data is for carrying out the research envisaged in the MoTiV project. Furthermore, your data will not be shared with countries outside the European Union (except for Switzerland that is associated through Horizon 2020, and is providing adequate personal data protection according the EC decision2). We only process your personal data for as long as necessary to serve the respective purpose of processing. In addition, we are subject to various storage and documentation obligations, including those arising from European Commission and Innovation and Networks Executive Agency related to Horizon 2020 rules and procedures. These obligations can apply for up to 5 years after the project has been finished.

CONTROLLING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
You can always review and update your personal profile information (e.g. user nickname, app
language) in the Profile and Settings section of the app. If you find that the information associated with your account is not accurate, complete or updated, then you should make all necessary changes to correct it. Furthermore, the app provides an overview of your trips and collected information on the related travel experience.
Privacy control can be performed as well through device-level settings: your device may have controls that determine what information we collect. For instance, Woorti app requires location setting activated to recognise users’ location. In case you deactivate it, Woorti app will not be able to track your mobility and collect you travel data.
If you would like us to delete your account, please use the “Delete Account” function available under the Woorti app Profile and Settings or contact us directly by email. On receiving such a request, we aim to initiate the account deletion process immediately. Once we receive your request, your data will no longer be collected. We then begin a process designed to safely and completely delete the data from our storage systems, which will be completed within a reasonable time.
